Polyvore: My Addiction to Fashion

It started out as a suggestion from my sister, a fashion lover herself, two years ago. She informed me Polyvore was a fashion website where users could create "sets," or collages, composed of clothing items, pictures of models, magazine clips, quotes and more to create a unique representation of your personal style. I followed suit with browsing the thousands of sets people had created, and fell in love immediately.

For me, Polyvore was more than just a website designed for examining and sharing each individual's style, but an escape where you could express yourself, a domain where fashion tips could be shared, new ideas could be created, and most importantly, art could be created. You see, in order to understand fashion, one has to realize that for fashion-lovers it isn't "clothes," but a work of art; a way of expressing onesself daily. Fashion doesn't define you; you define fashion. It has become both a stress-reliever and hobby of mine, and I recommend it to any fashion lover who has not yet discovered it.
